How to Clean and Care for Your Teva Sandals
Sandals that spend their days in rivers, dust and city heat deserve a little care. A few minutes now and then will keep them looking good and smelling fresh.
Webbing straps and rubber footbeds
- Rinse off sand, mud and salt water with cool, clean water.
- Mix a little mild soap or gentle detergent into a bowl of cool water.
- Scrub straps and footbed with a soft brush, working into the texture of the footbed.
- Rinse thoroughly and blot with a towel.
- Let them air dry in the shade. Avoid radiators, tumble dryers and direct sun, which can warp materials.
Leather and suede styles
Wipe leather with a damp cloth and let it dry naturally. For suede, use a dedicated suede brush once the sandals are completely dry. Do not soak leather or suede.
Keeping odours away
Many Teva sandals feature an odour-resistant treatment, but a regular wash is still the best defence. After a big trip, a sprinkle of baking soda overnight on a dry footbed helps lift lingering smells. Brush it off in the morning.
